Description

This is a treaditional Lebanese cuisine where the prawns are cooked along with rice and bell peppers. It is a simple dish but full of flavours, especially coming from the saffron. It is a one pot meal that can be served with any meat or barbecue dishes.

Ingredients

Serves : 3
  • 1 cups rice, soaked for 30 minutes


  • 2-3 tbsp olive oil


  • 1 nos onion, chopped


  • 8-10 nos large prawns


  • 1 cups assorted bell peppers, chopped


  • 1 tsp salt or to taste


  • 1/4 tsp pepper powder or to taste


  • 1/4 tsp saffron

Directions

  • Heat oil in a pan and saute the onion till it turns translucent. Add the prawns and continue to stir fry till it changes colour.
  • Now add the bell peppers and saute for a minute. Then add the rice, salt and pepper. Continue to saute for 1-2 minutes.
  • Add 1/2 cups water and saffron and pressure cook for 1-2 whistles. Fluff it up with a fork and serve with grilled meat and / or barbeque dishes.
